Brian May CBE is an English musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist who achieved international fame as the guitarist of Queen. As a guitarist he uses his home-built guitar, “Red Special”.

He was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2005 for “services to the music industry and for his charity work”.

Brian May has formed a group to promote animal welfare. His group, Save Me (named after the May-written Queen song), campaigns for the protection of all animals with a particular emphasis on preventing hunting of foxes and the culling of badgers.

Brian May is a staunch supporter of the RSPCA, the International Fund For Animal Welfare, the League Against Cruel Sports, PETA UK and the Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue.
