Primrose Hill, London
Now in its 7th year and 4th in Primrose Hill, PupAid will once again be in the leafy doggy paradise of north London’s Primrose Hill, part of The Royal Parks, and promises a jam-packed day of fun for all the family – and our faithful four-legged friends – with trade stalls, delicious fresh food, music and Scruffs heats judged by some famous faces.
But more importantly it’s about saving lives, puppy lives to be exact, and with enough awareness about the cruel farming trade, PupAid – which is backed by celebrities including Meg Mathews, Ricky Gervais, Simon Cowell, Lizzie Cundy, Kerry Ellis, Hollyoaks’ stars Gemma Merna and Kieron Richardson, EastEnders’ stars Rita Simons and Patsy Palmer, actress Danniella Westbrook and singer Jay Kay – hopes to make a difference and put an end to this barbaric practice once and for all.
Puppy farming is the mass commercial production of puppies purely for profit and without a thought for the welfare or happiness of the pup, breeding bitch or stud dogs. They are usually kept in horrific, dark, cramped conditions that are riddled with diseases, many of which are infectious, inbred and often incurable.
These poor pups are then sold en masse to pet shops, through newspaper ads or unauthorised websites and those who don’t die soon after reaching their new home usually usually require thousands of pounds worth of medical, surgical and/or behavioural treatment to fix them causing even more pain, suffering and heartbreak for both pups and families.
So bring your canine companion and join us to be part of the fight against puppy- farming so we can make a difference and stop the demand and instead promote rescue dog adoption and responsible breeding practices.
The Royal Parks
Almost 40 million Londoners and tourists visit the eight Royal Parks each year. The 5,000 acres of historic parkland provide unparalleled opportunities for enjoyment, exploration and healthy living in the heart of London. The Royal Parks will play a key role in Great Britain’s busy summer, hosting a number of Diamond Jubilee celebratory events as well as eleven London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic events.
The Royal Parks Are…
Bushy Park, The Green Park, Greenwich Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill, Richmond Park and St James’s Park. The Royal Parks also manages Victoria Tower Gardens, Brompton Cemetery, Grosvenor Square Gardens and the gardens of 10, 11 and 12 Downing Street.
Pup Aid 2017 will again be held in Primrose Hill Park, just off Regents Park Road. The best entrance to access the park is at the corner of Regents Park Road and Albert Terrace.
The closest tube station is Chalk Farm and we recommend you use public transport to travel to the event as parking is very limited.
